I work very hard to make medicines for my customers. Some of the tools I use are the mortar and pestle, mixers, graders, bottles, cups, knives, and leeches. The three most common medicines I make are for colds, headaches and stomach aches. For example, I take a knife or a leech on a person’s arm to take the blood out. This is call blood letting and can cure diseases of the blood. For hiccups and vomiting, I make a medicine by mixing two or three branches of mint and pomegranate juice with my mortar and pestle. Or, I can mix the mint with honey water to make a medicine that cures ear pain. After I make a medicine, I put it in a jar and place it on the shelf to sell to my customers at my apothecary.
