Silversmith

Oh oops, I forgot to shave the silver off the coins for Master Paul. Oh sorry, I didn’t see you there. I’m the silversmith’s apprentice, Robert. I am so busy today. I have to make four things. With not much silver I have to make a bowl, a set of silverware, a cup, and a lantern case. One of my best customers wants a bowl with lots of designs. This is going to take awhile. I have to heat up the forge and get some silver. Finding silver is hard because I have to go into a mine and pick at a rock until I get silver. Next I have to get the forge ready so that I can hammer the silver. I use an anvil to hold the silver while I hammer. Before I design I have to get just the right shape for serving food. I use a bowl mold to get the perfect shape. When I do the designing I use a knife to make the designs on the bowl. When I am done I polish it with a cloth. I really need to do this because it’s my favorite customer. Did you know that silver is really rare and expensive? Most of my customers are rich. I also work with pewter which is even more expensive then silver. I have to get more silver, Master Paul is waiting!
