Basket Maker

Oh goodness! I’m running out of wood! I still have to make 16 baskets. Oh, pardon me, I’m sorry for being rude. Good day. My name is Mistress Allison. I am a basket maker. I am the best in the colony of Pennsylvania. Basket makers go out once a month to the forests to get wood. We cut the trees with our ax. We prefer White Oak trees that are 10 inches in diameter, which is about this big. We cut the wood into strips and soak them in water. This makes them soft so we can weave them into baskets. My business is located near the blacksmith because the blacksmith makes nails. I have to go get some nails. The hardest part of my job is going to get the wood. The worse time to get the wood is in winter when it is so cold outside.
