I bid you welcome my friends. My name is Martha Willington. If it please you I would like to tell you about The Rocky Inn’s history. The Rocky Inn was my great grandfather’s Inn and there is a story to tell of the way he got the name. By your leave, of course. During the French and Indian War there was a British General named Mckee. He got chased and cornered on a rock that was about 150 feet above a river. He was forced to jump off the rock on his horse and into the river. Unfortunately he did not survive. The rock was right across the street from The Rocky Inn. The rock was very famous in that town so that’s why my family named their inn The Rocky Inn. Please enjoy your stay and have a hearty meal.
