Materials: Thread, a circle form, and fabric

Tools: Needles, scissors, and a stitching circle.

Steps:

  • Make three X's on each side with a needle and red thread.
  • Then make nine stitches like this / with a needle and red thread.
  • Then make nine stitches going the opposite direction.
  • Keep going making 7 X's , then 5 X's. Keep on going, but every two times lose one of the X's. Sammy
 I really liked the info about life in the colonial times and that the people would only have the sunlight hours to sew. When I was sewing in cross stitch, I was sewing a heart, but in colonial times people would sew different things. Dan
