Meeting With the Lenape

On 1692 William Penn met with the Lenni Lenape under a big elm tree. William Penn built his house for his wife and him to live in peace in the new world. He built his house near the Delaware River to get water from it. John the American was the first child to be born in the new world. In honor of brotherly love the Lenape gave William Penn a belt the wampum belt. Penn’s Woods is also known as Pennsylvania.
