King Charles put William Penn in jail two times for being a Quaker. King Charles owed a huge sum of money to William Penn’s father but Penn did not get the money, he got 26 million acres of land. He called this land “Pennsylvania” in honor of his father.
Penn built a huge room for the King but he never came.
In 1685 King Charles died.
