Margaret is an eleven year old girl who has just
moved from the city to the suburbs. With a whole new group of friends,
a new school, and a new age, she has a lot of new things to think
about and a lot of questions! Can she trust her new friend Nancy? What
religion should she be? Is she growing up fast enough? And why can't
SHE look like Laura Danker when SHE wears a sweater? With so many
things to think about, Margaret doesn't know how she's ever going to
survive!!
I recommend this book for girls because boys
probably wouldn't really understand it. And also, whoever reads this
book has got to have a lot of time on their hands, because they won't
want to put it down!Spring 2004

This book is about
a girl named Margaret. She is almost 12 years old. She moves from New
York - New Jersey and she changes schools. She joins a secret club
called the PTS`s. That stands for the Pre-Teen Sensations. In recommend
this book to 5th and 6th grade GIRLS! I do not recommend this book to
boys.

Right off the top I would highly recommend this
to any girl turning 11 or 12. This book talks about the life of an
average girl about my age (11) and the things that she has to go
through. This is not about the most popular girl in school nor the
dork. Growing up is hard especially at this age and this book
actually helps. Margaret moves right before school starts which
makes it even worse! Now she has to make brand new friends while
going through the emotions of growing up. Throughout the book,
Margaret finds it hard to talk to her parents about private things.
She even finds it hard to talk to her friends about them too. So,
she talks to God instead. And with three
new friends by her side, she makes it through growing up.
This book shows a way to grow up and a way to
live life at this age and encourages girls everywhere to be their
own person, accept who they are and compare themselves with...well
themselves. Race in life against your self, not someone else.

| Reviewer: Brittany B. '08 Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret is about a girl who recently moved
to a house in the suburbs. All the girls her age are maturing a lot faster than she is. It
always seems as if Margaret is the last or the slowest to mature. But when she has no more
hopes left, a big surprise leaves her the oldest in her group. This book is for girls.
It's about getting older, and dealing with peer pressure. To find out what her big
surprise is, read Are You There God? It's Me Margaret.
