The
book I read is called The
Batboy and the Violin by Gavin Curtis.
This book is about a black family and the game of baseball
during the 1940’s. This
was a time when the leagues were segregated between all-white players
and African Americans. The
main character is a little boy who plays the violin, and his dad who
is the head coach of a Negro baseball team.
The father doesn’t like the fact that his son would rather
play the violin than play baseball.
The dad’s team has a losing record, until one day the boy
starts playing the violin in the dugout while he is at the game being
batboy. To find out how
the team does you should read this book.
I recommend this book as a short read for anyone who likes good
stories. It is short, but
good.
I
Hope You Like This Book,
Matt S.
