Macey Clare, a 15 year old girl, has
to do a history report. She picks as her topic a fire that
happened in 1959. She questions her grandparents, who she lives
with because her parents are divorced. She asks the town's people about
it. , and she asks her teacher. No one tells Macey anything
about this fire. Was is because the fire was so bad that no one
wants to talk about it or is it because the fire involves a black man?
Macey calls people like the fire marshal to see if he has any files or
remembers the fire. Will Macey find out why no one wants to tell
her about the fire in 1959 or will she fail her history project?
To find out... read the book.
I recommend this book to people
who like books that make you read on and to people that like mysteries.

This book is about a girl named Macey who is
trying to research an old barn that burned down in 1959. But no
matter who she asks, no one will tell her about it. They just
quickly change the subject. Macey sets out talking to everyone that
was alive in 1959 and lived in her town. When she finds out
what she wants to know (sort of) she must learn to except the way
her family reacted to the fire. This is a great suspenseful book,
and I loved all of it.
Read the book to find out the rest of all of the shocking details.
