Can’t Stay Away, by Francine Pascal, is from the Sweet Valley High series. It’s about girls in their senior year who have to deal with peer pressure. Their school was just "invaded" by the El Carro School. There had been a terrible earthquake and El Carro was ruined. So the students came to the closest high school, Sweet Valley High. The El Carro crowd does not fit in with the SVH people, so they fight. No one gets along. For example, the captain of cheerleading group is up for grabs. Jessica is known for that spot, but Melissa is an "invader" and she was the captain at El Carro. They’re both great but who gets the spot?
