| Choosing Up Sides is about a boy,
Luke, whose dad is a leader of a Baptist Church in Ohio, and he gives very strict rules to
his son. Some of his rules are that Luke cannot play sports because sports are from the
devil; and he also thinks left handers are from the devil, too. That is Lukes
problem; he is left handed, and many people say he is a very good pitcher. He even
struck-out the top player in the state, who might go to the major leagues some day. Luke
doesnt know what to do. Should he follow his dads rules and be a righty and
never play sports again? Or will he do the opposite of what his dad tells him to do and be
a lefty and play sports? If you want to know, read Choosing Up Sides. You will
find some happy and sad surprises. You never know what is going to happen in this story,
and I do highly suggest Choosing Up Sides to everyone. Spring 2001 |
