| Antarctica: Escape from Disaster
is a true story about a team of explorers. The leaders are Jack Winslow, Captain Elias
Barth, chief navigator Peter Mansfield, and Jack's children, Colin and Andrew. The
story is about a ship, the "Mystery," and its journey to the South Pole in
1910. The crew encounters many problems, including ice, snowstorms, high winds, and
broken masts and booms. There is even a stowaway on the ship. If you're wondering whether they reach the South Pole, you'll have to read
the book to find out. This is a very good book...one that you cannot put down.
