The main character, Sam, is sent to a horse auction to make sure that no horses are sold to slaughter houses. While there Sam rescues a beautiful draft horse named Tinkerbell from the meat market. Sam is sure that this horse can easily be sold to a good home. Sam takes Tinkerbell home and in a short time she finds him ready to be sold to a good home. But Tinkerbell has other ideas! He jumps out of the paddock and goes back home to Sam. Sam recognizes that he has a natural jumping talent. With Sam's patience and Tinkerbell's talent, the horse finds a new life as a jumper; far from the slaughter house where Sam rescued him.

I recommend this book to people who love horses and who can also take a sad story. On a rating of 1 to 10 I would award this book with an 8.

This book is about a girl who finds a horse at an acution. Tinkerbell has been abused. Sam knows that her father won't let her have another horse, but when she finds out that the horse will otherwise be sent to a slaughter house she knows that she has to do something. I was on edge until I found out what happened to Tinkerbell. This is an exiting story.Kids who like horses and adventure stories should read, Phantom Stallion Gift Horse.
