This book is about an owl, named Soren, who has just escaped from an
evil place called St. Aegoulius Academy for Orphaned Owls, with a
friend he makes there, named Gylfie. He's flying with three owls not
including himself, Twilight a Great Gray owl, Digger a Burrowing owl,
and Gylfie an Elf owl, and then himself, Soren a Barn owl. They're
flying to an island, called, Hoole, with a great tree on it called,
The Great Ga' Hoole Tree. But ... they missed it and go all the way
to the Ice narrows where they meet a family of puffins, who turn them
back. They find it and are welcomed in by the leaders of all the owls
at the tree, named Boron and Barran. They make friends and then they
test out for chaws, which are kind of like groups. They all get the
chaw they want, except for Soren, who got coildering and weather
interpretation, with a creep owl who, on one foot had 3 talons instead
of four. His name is Ezylryb...You'll have to read the book to find out what happens next.
