| Title: Rem World |
| Author: Rodman Philbrick |
| Reviewer: Anna F.-M.'10 |
| I read REM World by Rodman Philbrick. It
is a book about a boy named Arthur Woodbury, a.k.a. "biscuit butt". He
really wants to loose weight so that the kids at school won't make fun of him so
much. Arthur purchases the REM sleep device with which he is able to loose weight
while he sleeps. Unfortunately, Arthur doesn't quite read the directions properly and
leaves his REM sleep device helmet in his basement causing him to be in two places at
once, which everyone knows is impossible. Now Arthur Woodbury has unleashed the
nothing (a force that will destroy the universe) by creating a crack in the universe
through which the nothing is seeping. Arthur is now trapped in REM world and has to
find his way home and save the universe before it's too late. If you don't read this
super exciting, terrifying, mystifying, wonderful book you will be missing out on one of
the best books of a lifetime. Fall 2002 |
