Ribbons is about a girl named Robin who is in love with ballet. She loves it so much that she practices it in the food stores and even in the malls. Everything goes well until she finds out that she can no longer take lessons because her parents have to save money so they can bring Robin’s grandmother to America from China. Robin is very upset.

When her grandmother finally arrives, Robin is too angry to even try to like her. Robin now has to practice ballet in the garage where her feet start to really hurt. Her feet have grown and her shoes have become way too small. Finally her parents notice her feet, and it becomes a problem. Meanwhile, Robin and her grandmother are getting along better.
