Standing In The Light takes place in 1763. It is about a girl named Catherine
and her family who are Quakers: mother, father, two younger brothers, and a younger
sister. In 1763 the Lenape Indians and the Quakers didnt get along. Catherine and
her family fear getting captured. One morning when Catherine and her little brother were
walking on the path to school, Indians jump out and capture them. She doesnt know if
she will ever see her family again or if she will even live. If you would like find out
how this suspenseful, non-fiction story ends, you will have to read the book.12/4/98 |
