Author:  Peter Parnall
Reviewer:   Brandon M. '07

Water Pup is about a mother golden lab who has puppies. A week later she dies while swimming in a lake. The puppies go out on their own to try and survive. One of the puppies has an ear that is pointing out and she is the only female. The female pupppy sees a fox and her young ones. She follows them around and becomes a part of the fox family. Later when the fox’s offspring get older, they all leave. The lab puppy doesn’t know what to do because she isn’t a fox.

When winter comes, the mother fox and the lab puppy need food. One night the mother fox goes out to a farm and she takes a chicken. The next night, she goes back and takes two more chickens. The farmer boy tells his dad that something took three of his chickens.

Read the book to find out what happens to the fox and the lab puppy.
