The Longest Lasting Battery

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this experiment is to compare three diffrent types of primary double A Alkaline batteries to determine which one performs the longest. To carry out this experiment a tape player was used. Also three diffrent brands of primary double A Alkaline batteries were used and a 90 minute tape. The test was started by placing the same brand batteries in the tape player and the putting the 90 minute tape in the tape player. The reason a 90 minute tape was used, was to efficently calculate the exact time the batteries lasted in 45 minute fragments. The experiment was begined by pressing the play button on the tape recorder. After the tape side has been played for 45 minutes turn the tape over and then record that the batteries lasted 45 minutes so far, then play the tape again and repeat the process. Continue playing the tape in the tape recorder until the tape recorder stops working because the batteries ran out of chemicals to produce a chemical reaction that produces energy to run the tape player.
After completing this experiment, it was found that the two double A Alkaline Energizer batteries lasted the longest out of the three batteries used in the experiment. Energizer lasted a total of 1,125 minutes. Duracell lasted a total a total of 890 minutes. Brand X lasted 525 minutes.
