The purpose of this experiment is to determine if natural insecticides are effective on Musca domestica, ordinary houseflies. To carry out this experiment, 30 adult flies and 10 pupa were placed into a jar containing a moistened mixture of ground flowers, spices, and sand. Each jar was partially covered with a lid to allow some air. The number of flies and pupa that died was recorded after 5,10,15,60, and 1440 minutes.
After recording all of the data, it was found that the flower mixture killed a total of 22.5 percent of the flies and pupa after 60 minutes and only 40 percent at the conclusion of the experiment at 1440 minutes (24 hours). On the other hand, the spice mixture killed 100 percent of the flies and pupa after only 60 minutes.
