To carry out this experiment bread was moistened with different amounts of water. 13 pieces of bread with no water, 13 pieces of bread with 5 ml of water, 13 pieces of bread with 10 ml of water, 13 pieces of bread with 15 ml of water, and 13 pieces of bread with 20 ml of water. The bread was left in a cabinet at room temperature for 21 days. To measure the amount of mold grown a scale of 1-5 was used: 1 was the least amount of mold and 5 was the most amount of mold.
After the bread was left untouched for 21 days, it was found that the bread with no water grew no mold, bread with 5 ml of water grew an average of 1 on a scale of 1-5, bread with 10 ml of water grew an average of of 2.4 on a scale of 1-5,bread with 15 ml of water an average of 3.7 on a scale of 1-5, and the bread with 20 ml of water grew an average of 2.8 on a scale of 1-5. The bread that was moistened with 15 ml of water grew the most mold.
