How Light Affects Your Eyes

Liz P

Abstract

The purpose of this experiment was to determine if people with light colored eyes would be able to read more quickly in the dark, than people with dark colored eyes. In order to do this experiment people had to be put into a light area and read the eye chart. Then they would be put into a dark area where they would then let their eyes adjust to the dark and they would then have to read the eye chart with little light. When this was done the results were recorded and they showed how quickly an eye group read the chart. After this experiment was completed, the results showed that light colored eyes, such as blue and green. were able to read the eye chart easier. The lighter colored eyes sometimes read up to five seconds faster than the dark colored eyes, such as brown.
