Is There a Difference in Remembering between boys and girls?

By Ben

The purpose of this experiment was to determine whether or not there was a difference in the capacity of short-term memory between boys and girls. To carry out this experiment, 30 boys and 30 girls were tested individually by viewing a picture for 30 seconds. After that, a survey with a checklist of all of the items in the picture was filled out. Each person tested had to recall as many items seen as possible. When all of the surveys were completed, the results were tallied together to determine which group remembered the most.

After completing the experiment, it was found that essentially the boys and girls remembered the same amount of objects in the picture. The boys remembered 38.5% of the total objects and the girls remembered 38.2%, an insignificant difference.
