The Growth of Beans in Different Soils by Matt R.
This experiment shows which soils are the best for growing Lima beans in. Soils were collected from around the Lafayette Hill region and put in small containers. In each soil a lima bean was planted and the containers with the plants were put on a sunny window sill. Later results were taken on how high the beans grew. The highest plant was grown in soil from around a limestone quarry, and the shortest from a paper mill factory. This experiment can help farmers and gardeners find out what soils are the best for growing plants in.
