Which Battery Lasts the Longest and has the Best Value

By Rachel R.

The purpose of this experiment was to determine which battery gave the best value. Four AA batteries of each of the five brands were drained by a resistor drawing a current identical to that of the sample testing device. Rite Aid batteries lasted the longest, that is, a total of 607.5 minutes. Duracell batteries lasted for 438 minutes, the shortest duration of all the brands. The brand of battery that had the best value per hour was Weis at a cost of $0.06 per hour and Duracell was the worst value at $0.0162 per hour.

After performing the experiment it was concluded that Rite Aid batteries were the best overall value. This is so because the Rite Aid brand lasted the longest and had the highest voltage throughout the experiment.
