This fall Spanish 4 Honors students had the opportunity to showcase their individual talents using creative writing skills. In pairs the students devised children's stories in Spanish for the second graders at Germantown Academy. Each pair submitted a rough draft. They illustrated their stories with an assortment of drawings and computer generated pictures and packaged them into books with the text. The students visited lower school classes to share their stories with the children; we invite all students of Spanish to peruse these tales. Your comments are welcome.
With the help of Ms.
Siwinski., our curricular technology
specialist, students typed their stories using the Adobe PageMill
program. They then searched for images and colors to highlight
the pages before scanning their drawings into the books. Some
students elected to animate their characters; other students superimposed
their characters on photos of famous locations around the world.
Students were graded according to a rubric.
