Our Favorite Books

Students in 1-V wrote letters to Ms. Flynn, the Lower School Librarian, about their favorite book and author after studying various authors.

Dear Ms. Flynn, My favorite book is The Runaway Bunny by Margaret Wise Brown. My favorite part is when the bunny decides not to run away. It reminds me of when my mom read it to me before I went to bed. I like it because I like bunnies, and I like it when he talks about changing into different things to run away from his mom. Dear Ms. Flynn, My favorite book is Poppleton Everyday by Cynthia Rylant. The first chapter is "The Sky." My favorite page is when Fillmore runs to his house. I like it because it is funny. I think it is funny because Poppleton climbs up onto the bed. Now I can read it to myself. Your friend, Daniel H.

Dear Ms. Flynn, One of my favorite books is Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown. When my mom or dad read Goodnight Moon to me I always fall asleep. I can read it now. I like the colors. Your friend, Leksy R.

Dear Ms. Flynn, One of my favorite books is The Five Chinese Brothers. It is by Claire Huchet Bishop and Kurt Wiese. It is about five brothers that look the same. It is special because it reminds me about when my dog gets in trouble too. Your friend, Zach K.

Dear Ms. Flynn, One of my favorite books is B. P. Bear's Birthday Party by Lee Davis. The characters in the book are hen, dog, bunny, bear, and lamb. When I was little and I did not know how to read, my mom would let me read the pictures and she would read the words. From, Kirby B.

Dear Ms. Flynn, My favorite book is The Foot Book by Dr. Seuss. It is funny because the rhyme is, "Up feet, down feet, here come clown feet." I like to read it. From, Max F.

Dear Ms. Flynn, One of my favorite books is On Our Way to the Water by Harriet Ziefert and Simms Taback. When I look at my book, I feel like I'm at home. I think the author is very talented. My favorite part is when the seal clapped his hands. Your friend, Jin X.

Dear Ms. Flynn, One of my favorite books is A Pocket for Corduroy by Dan Freeman. I like the part when he went in the laundry bag, but at the end the girl found Corduroy. And the girl sews Corduroy a pocket. When I read that book I wish I were Corduroy. From, Billy S.

Dear Ms. Flynn, One of my favorite books is Peek-A-Boo by Janet and Allan Ahlberg. It reminds me of when my mom would read to me in the morning. It makes me feel like I am a baby and that's what's happening to me. My favorite page is the last page because it has a happy ending. From, Heather M.

Dear Ms. Flynn, One of my favorite baby books is Honey Bunny Funny Bunny. The book is by Marilyn Sadler. The book is about a big brother T.J. He teases Honey Bunny Funny Bunny. One time he got grounded for painting on her face. Then Honey Bunny Funny Bunny thought T.J. Funnybunny didn't love her, but he did love her. It reminds me of me and my brother Joe. He teases me too. Dear Ms. Flynn, One of my favorite books when I was a baby is Goodnight Moon. It is by Margaret Wise Brown. It made me feel happy. It made me feel sleepy too. I can read it by myself now. My favorite picture is when the lady is saying, "Hush." Your friend, Max K.
