The Tree Viper

I studied the tree vipers. They have a large head. They have scales. They can be 2 to 5 feet long. They can be green, black, orange, yellow, red, blue, brown, and purple.

The tree viper lives on the continents of Asia, Africa, Central, and South America. They like to stay on the canopy of the tropical forests or a few feet off the ground.

The tree viper likes to eat frogs, lizards, birds, and small mammals.

Baby tree vipers are born twice a year during the rainy season. When baby tree vipers are born the babies slit the egg membrane with their egg tooth. They weigh under a quarter of an ounce and they are about 6 inches long.

The tree viper injects its venom without letting go of its catch and waits for the death of its prey and they swallow it whole. They eat lizards, birds, and small mammals.

The tree viper’s enemies can’t see them because they can camouflage themselves. It also shakes its tail to scare the enemy.

The viper lives in every part of the world except in New Zealand and Australia.

I got my information from several different places.
