Deinonychus

Paleontologists found fossils of Deinonychus in Montana and other western states. It lived in the cretaceous period. Deinonychus grew up to 13 feet long and weighed about 155 pounds. Deinonychus was not tall. It was 6.5 feet tall. The meaning of Deinonychus is terrible claw. Deinonychus was a carnivore. It ate meat. Deinonychus defended itself with the claw on each foot. It lived in hot and damp weather. Deinonychus had very long arms. It had a big head and was very smart. Deinonychus looked like a big killing machine. It walked on two legs and had a long tail. Deinonychus had a claw on its foot. It looked like a dagger point. Deinonychus didn't behave nicely because it had no patience. Deinonychus was the chief predator. Deinonychus had features also found in birds. It was related to Diplodocus and Apatosaurus. Deinonychus' claws were the size of a butcher's chopping knife. Its eyes were like a ball of fire. Deinonychus' teeth looked like a saw blade. It probably guarded its eggs until they hatched. Then they may have left them alone.
