Velociraptor

Velociraptor means swift running robber. Fossils were first found in 1942. In 1971 fossils of a Velociraptor were found pouncing on another dinosaur. The Velociraptor lived in what is now known as northern China and Mongolia. The Velociraptors were 6 feet long and about 2 feet tall and weighed 40 to 60 pounds. The Velociraptor lived in the Cretaceous period. It had very small arms, but very fast legs. The Velociraptor had a large brain and eye spaces. Velociraptors laid eggs and probably could not sit on the eggs. The world was different when the dinos lived. It was very hot all the time but it was very swampy. Velociraptors had long fingers. The Velociraptors were related to the first bird. Velociraptor was fierce. Its best defense was the claw on its foot. Its claw was very sharp.
