Hello, my name is Christopher White. I am an Apothecary.
If someone came in with a fever, I wouldn't give him or her Aleve. I would give them willow bark. If they had a stomachache, I would take oyster shells and chalk and grind them together and give them that. This medicine served as Tums. Apothecaries also pull teeth; they can grind up cloves to treat a tooth.

Good day, my name is James Carl. I am an Apothecary.
I start my day by grinding herbs to make medicines. I use herbs 75% of the time. I use a mortar and pestle to grind the herbs up. I give the man the medicine and tell him when to take it and how much to take. The Tums that we use now have the same ingredients as the ingredients we used in colonial times. They are chalk and oyster shells. Questions?
