My name is
Ruth Hopkins. I am a seamstress.
I make dresses. The first thing I do is to get the things that
I need. The things I get are scissors, needles, ruler, and a
cloth. The next thing I do is to measure the cloth, then I have
to cut the cloth. Next I have to sew the cloth together to make
the dress, make the finishing touches, and you are done. Then
I have to go door to door asking if people want to buy it.
Hello, my
name is Sybil Hopkins. I am a seamstress.
When I start to work the first thing I do is get cloth from the
market place. The second thing I do is measuring the person who
the dress is for. Next, I start to cut the fabric. The fourth
thing I do is sewing it. The tools that I use are a needle, some
pins, a sewing ring, my hands and fingers, and some scissors.
The materials I use are thread and string.
Hello! My name is Esther Hopkins.
I am a Seamstress.
When somebody wants
to dress I have to measure him or her. Then I get the fabric.
I would say, "What design would you like." They would
say their answer. I would do it. The first thing I would do to
make the dress is cut the fabric and then gets the thimble so
I don't prick my finger. Then I'd add the cotton lace for the
trim if they wanted one. I would have to sew everything together
by hand. After that I would give it to the person who wants it.
They would pay me.
