MATERIALS: Ax
or saw, wood and stump, flint.
DIRECTIONS: Use ax to cut down a tree.
Put the wood on the tree stump in order to cut it.
Using the ax, cut the wood on the tree stump.
Put the chopped wood in the fireplace.
Take a piece of flint and strike it with another piece of flint.
That should make a spark and create a fire.
USES FOR: Cooking and heating.
By using wood and making fire, people could
heat their homes and cook food . Fire was needed to make tools and to heat
fat to make candle. Fire had many uses and was needed by the colonial people
for many things.
