HOW TO BE A: Cabinetmaker

MATERIALS: Hickory and oak wood, lathe, chisel, drawknife

and scraper, brace and spoon bit,

brush and stain.
 
 

DIRECIONS:

1.To make a Windsor chair, get hickory and oak wood.

Let the wood dry.

2.Put the wood in the lathe and have the helper turn the wheel,

which turns the lathe.

3.Take your chisel and begin to shape the wood into legs and spindles.

4.Then take a flat piece of wood and shape it into a seat with your drawknife and scraper.

5. Use your brace and spoon bit to drill the seat and arms to chair.

6. Put the legs into the seat and the spindles into the arms and back.

7. Paint the chair with stain. You pick the color.
 
 

USES FOR A WINDSOR CHAIR:

1. As a seat at the dinner table.

2. At your desk.

3. In your living room.
