HOW TO TAKE CARE OF: Animals
 
 

MATERIALS: Cows, pigs, chickens, and sheep
 
 

DIRECTIONS: Feed and milk the cows and give them water.

Feed the chickens; give them water and collect their eggs.

Get the sheep's wool, and give them food and water.

Give the horses food and water.

Give the pigs their food and water.

Don't throw away the eggs from the chickens.

Don't throw away the cow's milk.
 
 

USES FOR: Animals

Cows were important in colonial times. The cows gave milk. The milk would be made into butter.

After the cows couldn't give milk, they would be made into a cow dinner. People would eat the pigs and chickens too. Pigs would be made into meat. Horses could pull heavy lumber that people couldn't pull. Colonial people used horses for traveling too.
