Following our trip to the creek this fall the children read Joyful Noise, a collection of poetry for two voices by Paul Fleischman. These poems describe many of the insects and water life we found when we visited the creek. We had a great deal of fun reading these poems out loud since they were designed as musical duets. The poetry has been written so that one student can take the left-hand part while the other reads the right-hand selection. After reading Joyful Noise, we decided to write our own poetry for two voices. The poems should be read from top to bottom. When the words are written on the same horizontal level, the lines are spoken simultaneously. Please enjoy!
