Pennsbury Manor Tour

Penn had many animals on his plantation.  Some of the same breeds are there today.  There are also sheep for wool, chickens and guinea hens.

The grounds are very beautiful.  We can see why Penn loved his farm and his view of the river.  Penn thought it was safer and healthier to raise his children in the country.

There are many different buildings on the plantation.  They serve many functions.  These buildings are reproductions of the originals, which fell into disrepair and were torn down.  These are built from information found in  the detailed records kept by Penn and from artifacts discovered by archaeologists.
