Plot Summary - John Henry was born with a hammer in his hand, showing how strong he was to be as he grew older. John Henry left home because there were other things he wanted to do in the country. He went to build railroads from the Atlantic to Pacific Oceans. He outhammered a steel drill, but after he won the race he died. He had worked so hard that his strong body could not take the stress.
Critique - I liked this story because it gave good descriptions of the characters, especially of John Henry. I liked the suspense in the plot.
