A Quail With A Tale

I once knew a quail,
who stole a whale,
went to jail,
worked breaking shale,
as people watched him wail.
Then he got bailed out of jail,
enrolled at Yale,
worked with a scale and
weighed quails that were pale.
He ate shrimp cocktails
as he bit his fingernails
and drank ginger ale with a killer whale.
The killer whale's name is Abigail,
she has a cottontail,
and tells fairy tales at garage sales.
