One day a 12 year old boy
was riding through a peaceful town. His eye was caught by a store
that had lots of neat things like painted dragon chopsticks, shiny
silver swords, silky smooth robes, and black as night numbchucks.
Yang flew through the door like lightning eager to buy things
with the money he earned working in the field. As he ran through
the store he grabbed things left and right to take to the counter.
It was a great feeling actually having money to spend and he unwisely
took advantage of this great privilege, because his eyes were
bigger than his stomach. He wanted every thing in the world even
though he did not need it.
As he went to the counter he found out that buying all the items
was to much money so he only bought a few, and still has no money
left.
Then he rode home on his family's only bike. He was so happy finally
buying something with his own money. When he finally made it home
too his small one room house with tiny paper windows, he dashed
inside and took out the black as night numbchucks and found no
use for them. He realized he better return all the things he bought
before his family got home.
When he got to the store he saw that there was a sign that said,"No
returning items." Yang felt so foolish. He decided to give
his numbchucks to a friend that took Marshall arts.
He sobbed on his bike the whole way home. He swayed into his house
and stumbled over some of his older toys and thought they were
just as fun to play with.
When his parents got home they asked Yang, "how much money
did you make today?" He announced," a lot, but I was
so stupid and bought junk when I could have gotten something that
we all could have used. His parents said "here's something
to think about when you are buying something, are my eyes bigger
than my stomach right now?"
