As Chao Tsi was rocking in his favorite rocking chair, his younger brother Lao Chung came in the room with his rocking chair. "Why do you always do everything I do?" asked Chao Tsi.
"It's hard not to, you're handsome and intelligent." replied Lao Chung. Lao Chung wasa always trying to be like his older brother, he didn't like his own life.
One day as Chao Tsi was gathering some stuff that his mother had given him, Lao chung came in the room and asked "What are you doing?"
"I'm selling Mom's things, she's not alive any more and all these old antiques do is take up space." Lao Chung wanting to be like his brither went to his room and picked up a brass antique that his mother had given him two weeks before she passed away. He went outside and put it in the dumpster. The next day, as Lao Chung watched the trash truck pick up the trash in front of their house, he saw his dad come up the driveway; his dad had gone to Guilin for a bussiness trip. Lao ran downstairs and gave him a big hug.
The next day when Chir Hao (the brother's dad) came to wake up Lao Chung, he saw that the brass antique was missing. He woke up Lao and said in a very stern voice, "Where is the antique," pointing to the empty space on his desk.
Lao yawned and said,"I threw it in the dumpster. Mom's not alive any more and all that old antique did is take up space."
"Let me guess, Chao said that."
"How did you know."
"Wild guess. But Lao, when will you realize that lights of a thousand stars do not make one moon."
"What does that mean?"
His father just walked out of the room.
That night he realized what his father meant, that no matter how much he tried he will not be able to be like his brother.
