Fight, Gold

by Sara

Long ago where the bamboo grows, lived a family of two parents and their children. In a small village lived this happy family. As this family sat in their garden, there were bright sunny faces on the two twins. The family liked the garden because in all families, they valued nature and enjoyed relaxing surrounded by the wonderful flowers of China.

One twin was a girl named Yin. She was seventeen years old. She was born in the Year of the Rat. She had many friends She was smart and was great at sports. She was very fast in running. She was the village's best girl's runner.

The second twin was named Yang. He was strong, fast and also seventeen years old, he was born in the Year of the Rat too. He did well studying the Confucian texts. He was the best boy's runner in the village.

Then, there came the younger brother named Ching. He studied very well. He was fifthteen years of age, he was born in the Year of the Tiger. He was a good runner, but he was not as fast as his brother and sister.

Then there was the wonderful mother named Shang. She was very smart. She also seemed to be very happy all the time.

Then there was the wonderful father named Wong. Wong was a very fast runner. He was proud and took pride in his family. He loved his family.

The family loved each other. They were also proud of each other. They tried to help each other whenever they could.

One day the oldest women in the village said that Yin should try out for the big contest in running. Yin was overjoyed with happiness. After school was over, she ran all the way home. She did this for two reasons. The first reason was to practice for her big race. The second reason was to tell her family.

Her parents were overjoyed to hear the news. They would let her try out for the games. Also if she were to go to the games the family would have enough money to pay for her to go to the games. The games would be this Sunday.

The next day, the oldest women in the village told Yang that he should try out for the big contest on the Sunday too. Yang also ran home as fast as he could for the same reasons that Yin ran home the day before. One to tell his family, and second to practice for his race.

When Yang got home he told his family. His parents thought it was wonderful! They had no doubt in their minds that not both of there wonderful children would have one of the fastest runners. So, they could send one of the two children to the Provincial Chatmpionships.

The race came on Sunday, the week had gone by very quickly for Yin and Yang. Yin was number forty-one. Her brother's number was forty-two.

The two twins went to where the starting line was, they looked at the track. Then came all the other runners who were going to try out for the Provincal Championships. The start man said "GET READY, GET SET!" And then he shot off the fireworks. Off ran the runners, all the runners.

Yin was in first place and Yang was in second place! Then suddenly Yin and Yang were getting closer to the finish. Yin and Yang were now tied! They both finished with at exactly the same time! They were both going to the Provincial capital for the championship.

When the family got home, the two wonderful parents told the twins the bad news. The bad news was that the family could only send one of them, Yin or Yang, to the provincial Championships. The two twins would have to choose between themselves who would represent the village in the Provincial Championships

The two wonderful twins started to scream and yell at the top of their lungs. The two twins got into a giant fight. The parents said that if the two twins did not stop fighting, no one would go to the Championships.

In the meantime, their younger brother, Ching, was training in his running. One day, he was swimming in the river. The oldest women in the village said that Ching could try out for the Championships for swimming. The race would be on Sunday.

When Ching went home he found that his brother and sister were still in a giant fight! Ching told his family about the great news. The whole family thought in their minds that Ching wouldn't make it! But the family all said that Ching could try out. He didn't know what his family thought about him. He was very proud of himself.

The next Saturday came very quickly for Ching. The two twins were still fighting over who would go to the Championships. The swimming race began, Ching was in third place! This race was very hard for Ching. Then Ching went into first place! Ching won the race! He could go to the Championships! Oh dear the twins were still fighting. Ching did not get into the fight.

Then the parents decided that Ching should go to the Championships. Ching said, "YES, I would be proud to represent the family and our village!"

When Ching was at the Championships, he did very well. He made the whole family proud. The country of China was very proud of him. The two twins Yin and Yang stopped fighting and everyone lived a happy life.
