Struggle Poem

By

Andrew S.

Why do they hate us?

we are all the same

Just sitting on a bus

Why are we the ones to blame?

We sit in the back

they tell us to move

we aren't good enough

Or so they tell us

One person who stood up

Was taken away

that was Mrs. Parks

Who sat in the front one day

We paid her bail

and never fought

we hope our fight doesn't fail

The court agreed with what we sought

We knew we could change things

But people may bark

But we had leaders like Dr. King

And courage like Rosa Parks

THE END
