The Holocaust
By Lisa
I am an American
I live in America
They take me
from my home
from my job
I am an American
I live in America
They take me
from my friends
from my relatives
I am an American
I live in America
They take me
to a Concentration Camp
a place
where I have not been
This place,
large
old and
suspicious
Scared
Scared about not seeing
loved ones
Scared
they might hurt me
keep me
forever
Scared
how harsh
they could be
A shower
is waiting
I wonder
"Why?"
Ancestors
from Russia
they think
I am bad
Why?
What makes them think
I am different
they look through me
to find ancestors
They lead me
to showers
I wonder
"Why?
