Smile - Silently

Their angry faces shout at us,

but silently we smile.

They won't give us equal rights,

but silently we smile.

They yell words at us, oh so mean,

but silently we smile.

They make us sit at the back of the bus,

but silently we smile.

But no more, a brave woman has changed it,

Rosa Parks gave us hope,

but we are still treated like slaves.

Over a hundred years ago the Civil War ended,

but we are still treated like slaves.

Will it ever be equal?

Or not,

how can it be though, we only smile.

We have to speak up, not smiling,

we march demanding equal rights.

We only have to wait, wait for rights,

we smile, but it's

not silent anymore.
