MY DRAGON POEM
By Elaine

As I lay in bed
watching the stars twinkle like diamonds in the sky
I see the silver moon
floating over the peaceful sky
a breeze blows in my window
and dances in my hair
I look up
a flash of light
like silver glitter
crosses over my face
a big gust of wind
sends my covers in a twirl
I was pulled out the window
and twirled around in the air
a great force took hold of me
and I was pulled up through the puffy white clouds
into the starfilled sky
I glided on magical wings
as I fly
over the mountains
through golden forests
of rubies, emeralds and other precious gems
their silver, golden and brass branches
comb through my hair
I glide over a river
with the reflections of the sky
the water hits my face
I gaze with amazement
being pulled up through the clouds
the wind whips at my hair
as I am pulled up
to where the geese fly
in their arrow always pointing south
through a Chinese garden
a rare blossom
has been placed in my hair
I wonder how
how am I flying
through this golden tour at night
over a Chinese pond?
I am placed to rest
just a moment
on a water lily
but up again
I fly through the sky
over different countries
now I am scared
to have a good time
if this is a dream
I am sure to wake up
I must do it now
spoil my fun, as my hand comes over to pinch my arm
I close my eyes
as my hair blows forward
with such great force
I reopen my eyes
to my amazement
I'm back in bed
the sun
just creeped over the hillside
I stroke my hair
what do I find
a rare Chinese blossom
placed carefully in my hair
I ask myself
is it really, really
a Dream.
