Title:  All of a Kind Family
Author:  Sydney Taylor
Reviewer:   Lauren G. ’08

All of a Kind Family takes place in the year 1912 in New York’s Lower East Side. There is not much money, but the five little girls, Ella, Hennie, Sara, Charlotte, and little Gertie of all the of a kind family find adventures everyday. The book tells about the family’s friends and what they do on their Jewish holidays.

If I were to rate this book on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate it an 8 because I can relate to all the Jewish holidays because I am Jewish and it is fun to read about girls my age. But there was no plot in the story and at times it got boring, though at the very end, it answered all of my questions.
