Reviewer:   A.J. J.  '09
Amber and her best friend, Justin Daniels, met in preschool and now they are a great team in 3rd grade.  Amber helps Justin with spelling and language arts and Justin helps Amber with math and science.  The problem is that Justin is moving to Alabama.  When Justin tells the class about the move he is going to make, he does not include Amber.  He tells all about the real plane he takes to visit Alabama and Amber is upset that Justin never mentions her name.  When Amber wants to talk to Justin about the move, he never wants to talk about it.  Amber gets very frustrated with Justin.

One afternoon Amber has to go to the Daniel's because her mom is getting a haircut.  Justin is packing and as he goes through his stuff he finds the gumball Amber and he have been working on for two years.  When Justin thinks about throwing the gumball out, Amber says, "Throw it out and I'm never going to speak to you again." Justin throws it out and he and Amber don't speak to each other for a while.

Read the book to find out if Justin ever mentions Amber's name and what happens to the poor gumball.
