Aquamarine is a great book. It is about two young girls, and a mermaid who are facing hard challenges. I rate this book a seven, because I wish the author would have been a little more descriptive, which would have made the plot more interesting. But over all I liked this book, and I recommend it to people who love water and a little romance.

Water Tales is two mermaid novels by Alice Hoffman.

Water Tales

The first one, Aquamarine, is about two friends who go to a broken-down swim club. The club is going out of business and the pool is shut down. The only one who is still there besides the 2 girls is the teenage boy who runs the snack bar.  After a big storm, they find a washed-up stranded mermaid in the pool. The mermaid, Aquamarine, is very stubborn and won't leave the pool until she is introduced to the teenage boy.

Finally the girls make up a plan to grant the mermaid her wish. The story is very suspenseful because Aquamarine's time away from the ocean is limited. Will she meet the boy before her time is up?

Indigo is the second novel and is about two very unusual adopted  brothers who find out a big secret about their past that may help them save their town from a big flood.  I recommend this double- header to anyone who enjoys reading about the sea.

I read the book Aquamarine by Alice Hoffman. It is about two best friends, Claire and Hailey, who are spending their last summer together at the Capri Beach Club when they discover a mermaid at the bottom of rusty, dirty, murky pool which is never used.  The mermaid is named Aquamarine and she is living at the bottom of the pool because she wanted to escape from her six mean sisters.  While living in the pool she finds her true love, so Claire and Hailey decide to help her meet him.

I recommend this book to people who like little adventures, friendship stories, and happy endings.

Claire and Hailey have been neighbors and best friends since as long as either could remember. Claire is the problem-solver girl who always has the sensitive heart and a great fear of swimming, and Hailey is the brave one, who Claire depends on. Without each other what would they do? No one would have guessed that Hailey and Claire would be separated this summer because Claire and her grandparents are moving to Florida. Just when it feels as though Claire and Hailey’s last summer looks like it’s coming to a boring end, something remarkable happens! It all begins when Hailey jumps into the restricted swimming pool at the Capri Beach Club and sees an extraordinary creature at the bottom.
